Response to COVID-19

At Cook & Co. Tax Advisors, our clients are like family. And like you, during the past few weeks, I have been focused on doing the things I need to do to keep the clients and employees safe. I want to personally update you on those activities surrounding the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The safety of our entire Cook and Company family is our highest priority. With that in mind, I have taken several steps in my business response to this threat. I want you to feel confident in our ability to continue meeting your needs.

Cook & Co. Tax Advisors has adopted the latest technology in fighting airborne bacteria and viruses as I recently purchased and installed not one, but two Illuvia systems by Aerobiotix, a unique technology which utilizes ultraviolet energy to eliminate airborne pathogens. These are medical grade systems normally deployed in hospitals.

Read the statement on Coronavirus and my Aerobiotix systems here.

In addition to deploying these devices that normally remove bacteria and germs from operating rooms, I have taken the following actions:

  • Provided hand sanitizer throughout the office.
  • Installed plexi-glass dividers on all desks and counter-tops
  • Ramped up cleaning services, including wiping down door handles and flat surfaces with disinfectant.
  • Each evening we spray disinfectant throughout the office.
  • I encourage elbow bumps rather than hand shakes.

Please rest assured that I am monitoring this developing situation closely and the staff and I are prepared to navigate through these challenging circumstances. Thank you for your trust in Cook & Company Tax Advisors.

Information on the 2 air decontamination devices I deployed at the office. Aerobiotix units are wheeled, enclosed hospital-based free-standing air decontamination devices which provide HEPA filtration and ultraviolet germicidal irradiation to the airstream. The devices have undergone independent testing demonstrating 100% inactivation efficiency in viral single-pass testing, using MS2 virus at 450 cubic feet of air per minute. This testing was performed by the Research Triangle Institute, and reviewed by the FDA in 2018. Coronavirus is both larger and more radiosensitive than MS2, making it potentially more vulnerable to ultraviolet and mechanical filtration than the MS2 test organism.
