2016 Brought no Snow During Tax Season, but Lots of Sickness

easter eggs with yellow tulip flowers isolated on white backgroundFirst, Happy Easter everyone! We’ve been so busy, I did not get a chance to post for Easter. On Saturday, my daughter Kimberly came and helped us by filling in for Dondi, who is out until next Wednesday. I told Kimberly that I feel like the Grinch who cancelled the Easter Egg Hunt the day before Easter. Kynzley, the grandbaby is two and more aware of Easter this year.

Thinking back to last year, we were interrupted three or four days with snow. As bad as those disruptions were, I think the cold weather killed a lot of the airborne germs and viruses. Whereas this year, the unseasonably warm temperatures have allowed those contaminants to linger and spread.

We have three people out with the flu today. I encouraged them all to stay home and get better before returning to the office. I’m taking some extra precautionary measures to protect our environment at the office. On busy days we have 90 people per day foot traffic through here.

I have ordered two AeroCure One units. They are Professional Grade HEPA Air Purifiers with UV Disinfection and with proven elimination of bacteria, viruses & fungi.

aerocure air quality solutionThe units will be here and installed tomorrow. Here’s some quotes from the literature on them. The AeroCure One is one professional air quality solution which combines medical-grade HEPA filtration with ultraviolet elimination of viruses, bacteria and fungal spores. Unlike standard air filtration systems, it uses a unique patent-pending internal reactor system which combines a full 32 watts of ultraviolet light with a solid matrix of UV-transmissible lenses. This matrix creates turbulence in the airflow, slows down microorganisms in the air stream, increasing the effective ultraviolet exposure.

The ultraviolet light of the reactor damages the DNA of microorganisms, killing them. This technology was originally developed for hospitals by a physician who was concerned about airborne antibiotic-resistant organisms. This system has been independently tested by the CDC-affiliated Research Triangle Institute and has been proven to eliminate virtually all airborne viruses, bacteria and spores in controlled laboratory conditions.

So you may see less of me going through the office spraying Lysol!
