….Reflecting on the week before.
Greg
If you read my Sunday morning blog posts during tax season, you will know that I almost always refer to the telephone traffic during the prior week. Last week we received 357 incoming calls and placed 536 outgoing calls.
893 Telephone Conversations
That 893 number does not represent just telephone calls, it represents conversations with our clients. I truly love this time of year when everyone is buzzing like bees around the office. There is a real sense of purpose and urgency in everything we do.
Squashing those Retirement Rumors
I’m not retiring. I’m doing twice the amount of work this year!
A poorly worded newsletter at the beginning of the season gave some people the impression that I was slowing down or relinquishing some of my duties. The only activity I’ve turned over to staff, is the keying of data into my computer system from all of the different forms clients bring into the office. Some documents have very small print, which I cannot read.
So No, I'm not stepping away from my duties. I plan to be working for as many years as possible. I love what I do. I love helping people. I especially love winning battles with the IRS.
Since the Covid Pandemic and the dramatic increase in the number of clients that file remotely without coming into the office, I have to spend more time with our Information Technology activities.
We are on schedule to prepare and file approximately 200 more tax returns than last year. With that increase, I must spend more time reviewing and monitoring every tax filing that flows through my office.
