What is the old saying? April showers bring May flowers. April also brings our Tax Season to a close on the 18th. Our schedule is very full; however, we still have a few openings to fill. When you are scheduling your appointment, you may have to schedule with another agent than you normally would. Please do not look upon it as a negative, because in fact it is a positive.
Throughout the years I’ve often said that it would be to the client’s benefit to have a different set of eyes on their situation occasionally.
We are working remotely with three-times the number of clients Post-Pandemic versus Pre-Pandemic. If you are just now uploading your documents, we will make our best effort to finalize the filing with you before the deadline. During the process, if we see that you are likely due a refund, we may need to file an extension just to be safe.
Filing an Extension is Not a Bad Thing…
The best approach to filing taxes is to always take your time and do not rush it. If you file an extension and then it turns out that you do have a balance due, the sooner it is filed and paid, the less interest that will accrue from April 18th until the date that you pay.
