Record Hot Temperatures Predicted for Last Week of Spring Here in North Alabama<\/h1>\n

\"young<\/a>We have fallen behind on normal rainfall and water levels\u00a0this Spring of 2016. Recently we’ve gained some ground catching up, thank goodness.<\/p>\n

Our routine day at the office this time of year, has us discussing quarterly estimated tax payments like the second quarter\u00a0payment that was due yesterday, with engineering consultants, realtors\u00a0and medical doctors. But we also work closely with more than 400 farmers or farm related operations.<\/p>\n

Beef cattle, poultry,\u00a0crops and timber\u00a0are big business in Blount, Cullman, DeKalb, Etowah, Limestone, Madison, Marshall,\u00a0Morgan and Walker Counties.<\/p>\n

Last year at this time, Jonathan Neighbors, EA of our staff spent several days with an Alabama Department of Revenue Agent traipsing through the pastures of many acres of a Blount County cattle farm, counting\u00a0cows!<\/p>\n

So, if you come into our office in the coming weeks, don’t be surprised if you encounter some of the staff wearing field boots.<\/h2>\n

Our great State of Alabama is so rich in natural resources. Much of the cotton that is\u00a0used to make clothing is produced here and neighboring Mississippi. The majority of peanuts packaged and sold in the United States are grown within a 250 mile radius of Montgomery, Alabama (includes our Georgia neighbors).<\/p>\n

The next short article I’m working on will feature a Timber Farm in DeKalb County. Alabama A&M University has used our client’s timber operation as a model for laboratory and classroom study.<\/p>\n
